WinPOPT Installation Guide (Release 1.1.1 Beta)

Readme file for Installing WinPOPT Release 1.1.1 Beta

There is no new user manual.  This will be updated for Release 1.2.

Please refer to Section 5 of the WinPOPT User Guide.pdf for further details.
Included in the Zip file are:

1. winpopt.ctf
2. winpopt.exe
3. about.txt
4. license.txt

INSTALLING WINPOPT
It is recommended that you install WinPOPT (Release 1.1.1) to a different directory from any previous versions that you may have installed.

Step One: Unzip the files into any directory that you wish to run WinPOPT from, e.g.
C:\Program Files\WINPOPT R1.1.1

WinPOPT can also be installed onto and run from a network drive, e.g.
G:\<main directory>\<subdirectory>\WinPOPT R1.1.1

Files 1-4 need to be in the same directory when WinPOPT is to be run.

Step Two: Create a shortcut to the winpopt.exe on the network drive to copy to
each workstation.

WHAT'S NEW
==========

Bug fixes:
1)  The user defined upper and lower boundaries for the exchange algorithm were not being accounted for correctly in the optimization algorithm (in WinPOPT only).  That is now fixed.  This bug does not affect the performance of the process other than not accounting for user defined constraints
2)  Large user defined models were causing WinPOPT to crash - this has now been fixed and we are not aware of an upper limit on the length of a user defined model.  If you find one please let us know!

Extra feature
1)  A three compartment model with zero order input and first order input have now been included in the library.

To run WinPOPT - double click on WinPOPT.exe or the shortcut.
